Paul Whittle  has talked to us before of amazing travelogues.

On this occasion he talks about " The Venetian Connection" which is all about how Venice became so wealthy from trade

Paul's professional career was in banking, latterly in the City of London as a senior human resources manager with a leading British bank. In 1999 he was granted his "Freedom" and appointed a Freeman of the City of London.

For 34 years he served in the Territorial Army, Royal Signals. He is a keen military historian and has written and published the history of his regiment.

Paul has been a travel lecturer since 2003. He gives over 120 talks each year and also on cruise ships and has visited over 60 countries. In late 2018 he contributed to and appeared in the Quest TV railway documentary series on "How Trains Changed The World".

Paul has a great interest in heritage transport.  He is Vice Chairman of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society and a member of several UK steam railways in addition to the Wey and Arun Canal trust. He is also President of the Banstead and District Club for the Blind.
