December
Wokingham Waterside Centre
We constructed a Meeting Point at the Wokingham Waterside Centre. We landscaped a natural hollow in the woods to make a small amphitheatre where groups can get together and talk about their plans.
Santas Grotto
Every Christmas we help Santa Claus to meet the local children, typically in a grotto at a garden centre.In return Santa Claus helps us to raise money in support of the many charities.
Christmas Dinner
After a busy year we like to enjoy good food and fellowship at our annual Christmas dinner. You can probably gauge from the broad smiles on this table that everyone is thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Christmas Raffle
We had great pleasure in presenting the prize to the winners of our Christmas Raffle. Rotarian David - left - is pictured here with the two lucky prize winners.

Young Achievers Interact Club
The Young Achievers Interact Club of Maiden Erlegh School held a 21 mile Swimathon at Leighton Park to support the Royal Berks ‘Robbie the Robot' appeal. They raised £500.
Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Rotary sponsors the Youth Leadership Award. Club President David took great pleasure in awarding Laurence Parbery with his certificate confirming he successfully completed the programme.
Abroad Experience
We also support youngsters who want to expand their life experience abroad. Here we see Andrew Webb, a local Explorer Scout, being congratulated by President David after Andrew's excellent presentation on his work experience in Africa.
Poppy
Reading Maiden Erlegh Rotary members helped the distribution of poppy's.
Comedy Sketch
Rotary is well known for its fundraising activities but we also have a strong social side. During one of our social evenings a group of Rotarians showed that they are great 'fans' of collecting in aid of the many charities and good causes that we support.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Rotary sponsors a number of Youth programmes including the Rotary Youth Leadership Award. Club President David took great pleasure in awarding the Student we sponsored with her certificate confirming she successfully completed the Award programme.
Youth Speaks
The Rotary Youth Speaks competition continues to go from strength to strength each year, producing some superb quality speakers in our young people aged from 11 to 18.
Reading Art Exhibition
The fourth Reading Art Exhibition held recently at St Joseph’s College in Reading has raised over £3500 for local charities. The local charities included CIRDIC, Crossroads and the Wokingham Waterside Centre.

Rotarian Golf Winner
Sport plays a part in the social side of Rotary and here one our Golfing Rotarians is receiving his winner's medal.
Food-Time
Enjoying food and fellowship is a major part of the Club's social calendar. This smile on the face of one of our Rotarians says it all !
Porsche Tour
Porsche Cars Great Britain entertained our Rotarians & their guests to a tour of the Porsche Calcot facility which raised £1336 for Crossroads. A charity that provides respite services for Carers - for more information visit their web site at www.crossroads.org.uk.
Waterside
We built a firepit at waterside, for water centre clients to use during the summer-time.

The Club helped with the Holt School Language Fair and Challenge of Management.
Kids Day Out

Abseiling
One of our Rotarians going over a cliff edge assisted by a Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) student. She was frightened of heights and had never abseiled herself before that day!

Kids Day Out Recognition
RME presented a wall mounted clock to Sandbanks Beach Office,Poole Dorset to recognise their support when RME visited on Kids’ Out days.

Volunteering in Ukerewe
International project in Ukerewe, Tanzania in conjunction with other rotary clubs. Ukerewe in a very poor island in lake Victoria. This continuing project is aimed at improving basic facilities on the island.
