Fundraising in 2023

Our club hosted the tenth charity art and craft exhibition from 28th  - 30th October 2022.

The money raised has bought 2,500 meals to assist those experiencing food insecurity.  Our club is collaborating The Thomas Franks Foundation  (Feeding Communities)  project  www.thethomasfranksfoundation.org  and Leighton Park School.  Our  fundraising art and craft fair is part of the Reading Cultural Partnership and collaborates with the Reading Guild of Artists to attract outstanding art pieces and craft items.

Feeding Communities   provides essential food provisions and fresh healthy meals to support food banks or families struggling from food insecurity. An unimaginable amount of people across countless communities are having to suffer and are making untold sacrifices just to feed themselves and their families.  This situation may affect significantly more families in light of recent energy and inflation crisis.      https://youtu.be/Y4exEVU4CiQ

The Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh in collaboration with The Thomas Franks Foundation believe if even just one family can be fed, that's one less family that is going to sleep hungry.

We held a Charity Bridge Drive in the Charvil Village Hall on 27th January and raised over £1000.  The players were treated to a splendid afternoon tea of sandwiches, cakes, tea and coffee all served by Rotarian and Inner Wheel volunteers. Everyone, bridge players and catering team, had a very enjoyable afternoon.
