Fundraising

To enable us to give financial help to all the good causes that we support, we run various fund-raising activities each year. You can help us to continue this support when you make purchases from Amazon by using Amazon Smile which donates 0.5% of the basic purchase price to our charity at no added cost to you. When you enter Amazon Smile, you can enter our charity name "Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh Trust Fund" in the charity box.

Supporting Santa's grotto at Hare Hatch Sheeplands

From Saturday 4th December, Santa will be at Hare Hatch Sheeplands to see children each weekend with daily opening from Monday 20th to Friday 24th.  As well as reserving a time to see Santa, you can book a special breakfast for all the family before visiting him in his open and well-ventilated area. Go to the Hare Hatch Sheeplands website and book NOW. Catch up on our Facebook posts

This year is special as Santa is asking each of his visitors if they would like to have a tree planted nearby as he wants to protect and improve our local environment. The trees will be supplied by the Woodland Trust and planted at the equine assisted therapy charity centre Just Around the Corner (JAC) on Forest Road, Wokingham. The trees will be planted by the Rotary Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh as part of their Environmental plan for 2021/2022. In addition to a gift from Santa, children will receive a certificate saying how they want a tree planted in their name. The tree planting is totally free although voluntary donations are always welcome of course! The Grotto has been generously provided by Hare Hatch Sheeplands and all proceeds will be given to the Rotary club of Reading Maiden Erlegh for use in the community. See the poster below.

In addition to helping other community support organisations, we ran the very successful Reading Charity Art Fair on October 30th and 31st at Leighton Park School in Reading. We are finalising the accounts and all funds raised by the event will be going to the Royal Berkshire Hospital Staff Wellness Centre to support the hard-working staff. If you were nable to attend but would like to contribute? Your donations are still welcome.   There are still paintings available to view and purchase from the Art Fair Online Sales page
