Social

The men and women who belong to Rotary clubs have a lot of enjoyment. Every club arranges parties and activities with no other goal than to celebrate and socialise. Members have the chance to forge new friendships with like-minded people who share common goals, not just in their local area, but across the world.

This bond creates an instant sense of belonging, wherever you are in the world. Many a member in need of a local doctor, lawyer, hotel, dentist, or other expertise while travelling has found assistance through Rotary.

Ours is a friendly and welcoming club with many opportunities for fun and friendship.

Our Social programme forms a cornerstone of the club, and where we can sometimes let our hair down!

Here is a list of some of the social activities held since July 2016:

A picnic and games in a member's garden

A barn dance

A visit to the Clink restaurant at Brixton Prison

Attendance at a theatre performance of Henry-I

Our annual Christmas party

A New Year's walk and lunch

A club curry night at a local Indian restaurant

Participation in the Inner Wheel Charter Lunch

Social events still to come in this Rotary year

 Monthly walks

Joining an Inner Wheel casino evening

Dinner with other service clubs (e.g Lions, Round Table etc.)

A visit to the scarecrow weekend at Urchfont near Devizes

A Rotary Cornish theme event

An open-air Shakespeare performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream

Rotary President's Lunch with Inner Wheel & guests

Of course the fun doesn't end there. Members who get involved in other activities such as fund raising or youth and community activities, gain real joy and satisfaction in working with fellow Rotarians and the public supporting these worthwhile projects.
